Meet Francis Gamache, our therapist

Francis is a qualified shiatsu therapist from Canada. He graduated from the Canadian College of Shiatsu Therapy and underwent a 2,500 hours shiatsu curriculum from 1999 to 2001. He has been working in Finland since 2001 and helping his clients to improve their health and well-being.

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu therapy is an authentic Japanese manual therapy, officially known as Namikoshi Shiatsu Therapy, named after its founder Mr. Tokujiro Namikoshi. Shiatsu technique involves applying manual pressure to certain established points on the surface of the body. It is a calm, gentle, and individualised method of relieving the body of pain and evoking the body’s own natural powers of recuperation. It treats the body and mind holistically, so that you feel energized and rejuvenated. It can be adapted to individuals across all ages.

Shiatsu is helpful for you if you are suffering from muscular tension or stiffness, fatigue, insomnia, or mobility issues. It helps in speeding up the recovery process in case of injury or an operation. It is a source of mental therapy and can help alleviate stress and anxiety, thus improving overall mental performance and achieving more, daily.


How do I prepare for my shiatsu session?

Before your shiatsu session, we advise that you drink some water and use the restroom. Avoid any heavy meals before the session.

The session will be done on a massage table and you can choose to wear whatever is comfortable.

There are no restrictions to what you can do before or after your Shiatsu session.
